Jason Vick has a PhD in political science from the University of California, Irvine. His research focuses on the relation between democratic theory and practice, particularly with regard to how the ideals of participatory democracy are instantiated in the real world. He has also published research on mass incarceration.
He has taught at UC Irvine and Cal Poly Pomona, been a maintenance worker, and is currently a freelance writer and independent scholar.
